Mid-Autumn festival preserves traditional culture
Update: Aug 30, 2011
In the capital city of Hanoi, there are some artisans who are keen to pass on handy tips to others to create special traditional toys for children during the mid-Autumn festival, which falls on the fifteenth day of the eighth lunar month.

Through traditional toys, younger generations can understand more about the cultural and historical values of their ancestors.

Local artisans use popular materials such as iron and paper to make masks, ships and lions. Their products are exported to China.

In Hanoi’s old quarters, many traditional toys are sold in Hang Ma street where various types of toys for children are available.
