VNA adds seats for September holiday

The national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) has reported it will increase capacity from August 30 to September 5 to serve an extra 174,000 seats (up 30 percent compared to the same period last year) to meet travel demand during the national independence (September 2) holiday.

Capacity increases will be applied on routes with high demand, including flights between Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Hai Phong, Danang, Nha Trang and Phu Quoc. Specifically, the Hanoi – Danang route will have 2,208 more seats, Hanoi – Nha Trang will have an additional 3,656 seats and HCMC – Nha Trang will have an extra 2,140 seats.

The low-cost carrier Jetstar Pacific (JPA) said that from August 25, it started selling tickets for the lunar New Year 2012 (Tet holiday) on flights between HCMC and Hanoi, Danang, Vinh, Hai Phong and those between Hanoi and Danang. JPA will also sell discounted tickets for passengers who plan to travel from October 4 to 25.
