The Saigon Railway Station reported on August 18 that passengers buying tickets on selected train services will be offered 5-10 percent discounts.
The discounts will be available for hard seats on TN 1/2 trains departing from September 6 to December 31 and sleeper and soft seats without air-conditioning on trains SE 5/6, SE 7/8 departing from September 6 to October 31.
Passengers buying tickets 60 days in advance will enjoy 10 percent off while those buying tickets 15 to 59 days in advance will receive 5 percent off.
Aiming to create favorable conditions for travelling during the Lunar New Year (Tet holiday) 2012, the Vietnam Railway Corporation will sell Tet tickets from October 2011 for five pairs of trains on the South – North daily route.
