Glimpse Ba Na – Nui Chua along with the cable car system of two new Guinness World Records

Ba Na - Nui Chua is one of the most ideal destination for ecotourism and relaxing in the central of Viet Nam. Located in the Truong Son mountain range in Hoa Vang District, Da Nang City, about 30 km to the southwest of the city center, with the peak at an altitude of 1,487m above the sea, its climate is temperate, cool around the year with the average temperature of 18oC.

Ba Na is considered as a green lung, a gem of climate which the nature awards to Da Nang. Coming to Ba Na, tourists not only enjoy clear and green air of unspoiled forest but also contemplate spectacular views that not many places have.

In Ba Na, there are four seasons in same day: spring in the morning; at noon is summer; in the afternoon is weather of autumn and at night, it is cold as in winter.

 

In the early of the 20th century, many resorts, villas, hotels were built by French along mountain slope, peak of Ba Na Mountain, peak of Nui Chua. At that time, Ba Na quickly became one of the most famous and biggest tourist sites in Indochina, attracted many tourists keeping pace with Le Bockor (Cambodia), Cap Saint Jacques (Vung Tau), Tam Dao (Vinh Phuc), Sa Pa (Lao Cai). After that, these had been in oblivious and deserted since the destroy of the war.

           

In addition, Ba Na is an area with more than 256 fauna species, including the rare Asian black bear, Pheinardia ocellata, and 543 flora species. Obtaining moisture from the sea, Ba Na is like a colorful spring garden with numerous flowers specific to the sub-temperate climate such as hortensia. Here tourists can find wild hortensia and orchids. The unspoiled beauty of wild flowers is fascinating. Ba Na was recognized as a nature reserve by the government in 1986.

 

In the recent years, French-style estates, a Buddhist cultural site, wine cellars and a number of villas, hotels, bars, tennis courts, badminton courts, etc. are restored and built. Especially, a modern cable car system was invested. Before this incredible achievement of science and technology, tourists had to travel along a steep mountain pass to go to the beautiful province of Ba Na, while now one can sit back, relax and enjoy a single comfortable journey in the world’s longest and highest non-stop cable car over stunning views, in order to reach one of the most marvelous destinations of Viet Nam. The Ba Na Cable Car carries guests to the mountain tops within minutes compared previously to almost an hour by road. 

 

Leg 1 - (Suoi Mo (Dream Creek) to Vong Nguyet Hill): officially open for public use from 25th March 2009 on the occasion of 34 year anniversary of Da Nang City Liberty Day.

 

At the foot of Ba Na Mountain is Suoi Mo where attracts lots of tourists come to relax on hot summer days. Also in this place, nine-storey high Toc Tien Waterfall appears, standing at the foot of the waterfall tourists will look it like a hair of fairy swinging.

 

Sitting in the cabin, mid air, looking upon the endless tree line of the forests, tourists will be able to enjoy breathtaking views of the lush jungle and waterfalls along the way. Experiencing the pristine ecological system of the Ba Na Mountain will bring one a sense of unforeseeable discovery. Enjoying the feeling of transition between summer and winter in 5km long route.

 

According to the World Cable Car Association, Ba Na cable car system in the central city of Da Nang is awarded two Guinness World Records for the longest (5,042 meter) and highest (1291.81 meters) non-stop cable car system with the biggest height gap between its departure and arrival stations.

 

Getting off here, tourists will find the Linh Ung Pagoda with its exquisite architectural design, a copy of Linh Ung Pagoda in Ngu Hanh Son. It was built in 2004 and is symbolized by a 30m high Buddha statue exposing amidst immense space of clouds and wind mountain. Close to Linh Ung Pagoda, remains the cellar of the French which is still used today to distilled alcohol and open for tourists to visit, sip a little yeast to heat the heart.

 

Leg 2 - (Vong Nguyet Hill to Nui Chua): On July 22nd, 2009, the second route is 700m in long, from Vong Nguyet Hill (about 100m away from Linh Ung Pagoda) to the peak of Nui Chua, officially begins operating. At the 1,487m above the sea level, tourists can see over the city of Da Nang's awe-inspiring bay. From here, one can see through layers of cloud and Han River look as a blur brush, Ngu Hanh Son as rock-garden, and boats as small grains of sand... 

 

While traveling up to the peak of Ba Na Mountain to enjoy its amazing majestic views, tourists also have chance to see pictures on cabins, each picture is one of nine unique characteristics of Ba Na as:
