Nearly 1,000 Vietnamese and foreign entrepreneurs and investors gathered in the central province of Nghe An on October 17 for a conference on promoting investment in the north-central provinces.

The north central region's potential infrastructure, energy and support industry as well as human resources will be highlighted at a conference on October 17 in Vinh City in Nghe An Province, according to Do Nhat Hoang, head of the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

During the final stage of the campaign to vote for Halong Bay as a new world’s natural wonder, on October 08, 2011 in Vinh city, the Vietnam Administration of Tourism  (VNAT) coordinated with the Nghe An Department of Culture, Sport and Tourism and Vinh University to hold the selection ceremony vote for Ha Long Bay.

As of October 1, Air Mekong will run a direct air route from Vinh to Buon Me Thuot and vice versa with one flight a day.

The national flag carrier, Vietnam Airlines, will offer a 15 per cent discount on ticket prices for the elderly, on its domestic routes and those of Vietnam Air Service Company (Vasco) as of August 15^th.

Giang river which is a part of the Lam River originates from the upper stream Hanh Lam, flows through Thanh My, Thanh Tien ... then merges with Lam river in Thanh Chuong district in Nghe An province.
