Koi Fish Park

Location: No.87/8P Xuan Thoi Thuong 6 Street, Xuan Thoi Dong 1 Hamlet, Xuan Thoi Dong Commune, Hoc Mon District, Ho Chi Minh City.

Characteristics: This is the first Japanese garden in Viet Nam.

(TITC) - The 20,000m² Koi Fish Park (also known as Tung Son Thach Hoa Vien or Rin Rin Park)​ was created by Mr. Ngo Chanh, a overseas Vietnamese having time in Japan. After 6 years of preparation and 7 months of construction, on 2 March 2014, Koi Fish Park was official put into operation.

 

The 20,000m² park is designed based on three factors of Stone - Fish – Tree to create a green space which is typical for Japanese culture and garden style. Most raw materials decorating the park are imported from Japan, including more than 4,000 tons of rock with different colors and shapes. Here, visitors will be amazed by the beauty of numerous art rock blocks carved elaborately with extremely unique veins, typically the 110ton-weigh rook “Tung hac dong xuan” (The flamingos gather under the shade of old pine trees) in the centre of the park. Besides, the park has hundreds Japanese ancient bonsais in various sizes, especially over-700-year-old pine trees.

 

 

Highlight

The park has the 500m³ fish lake with more than 200 Koi fishes imported from Japan with longevity of 60 or 70 years old. The Koi fish is considered as the mascot of Japan, expresses the courage and incessantly striving to achieve success in life. Crossing the lake is a red bridge. Japanese stone lamp system was installed to provide light and add the beauty for the park.

 

Service and Cultural Activities

Koi Fish Park is the place to promote Japanese culture to Vietnamese and foreign visitors, and also the destination for many entertainment activities, cultural exchange events between Viet Nam and Japan. The park also has the restaurant area to introduce Japanese cuisine to visitors.
