Supplementing Viet Nam Press Museum into national museum system
Update: Aug 06, 2014
The Prime Minister has approved to supplement the Viet Nam Press Museum into the general plan on Viet Nam’s museum system until 2020.

Accordingly, the Viet Nam Press Museum will be managed by the Viet Nam Journalists Association and reflect upon the development of the Vietnamese press.

During the first phase the museum will collect press publications from before 1945 to the present day, as well as other publication tools; souvenirs collected by journalists, leaders of press agencies and journalists associations; documents related to the Central Committee of the Viet Nam Journalists Association; photos and studies about press history and documents on press teaching and training; and awards from the Party and State for the press.

The museum will preserve and promote the values of Viet Nam’s press heritage, glorify the contributions of the press and journalists in the cause of national construction and defence and contribute in the education of national traditions for people from all walks of life, in particular the young.

The museum is expected to open in 2015, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of Viet Nam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).
