The coastal province of Khanh Hoa now has 550 accommodation providers with more than 14,900 rooms, including seven five-star hotels (1,216 rooms), six four-star hotels (1,101 rooms), 35 three-star hotels (2,664 rooms) and two-star centres, according to the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
With the growth impetus and market orientation, the provincial tourism sector is targeting the high-income tourist market. This means that the province needs additional three to five-star hotels within the next 2-5 years.
In 2014, the province expects to have more than 10 four-five star hotels put into operation, adding nearly 3,000 rooms. These are Inter Continental (The Costa - 348 rooms), Green World (201 rooms), Native Land (Muong Thanh – 1,000 rooms), Galina (162 rooms), and Nha Trang Palace (nearly 200 rooms), Khatoco.
According to the statistics of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Khanh Hoa province received about 3.1 million visitors in 2013, increasing by 29.42 percent over 2012 and exceeding the year’s target by 11.11 percent.
Of the total figure, there are 711,000 foreign visitors, up 34.1 percent, creating over VND3.9 trillion in turnover, up 35.85 percent.
