Danang prepares tourism stimulus programme
Update: Aug 02, 2013
The central city of Danang has scheduled its 2013 tourism stimulus programme for between September 1 and December 31.

The programme is designed to support travel agencies' steady business and sustainable development.

Its participants will be drawn from Danang City's tourism and service industries, including tour operators, hotels, resorts, airlines, restaurants, shopping centres, local attractions, supermarkets, and tourist transport services.

More than 80 have already registered for tourism stimulus packages, meeting the varying demands of individual, family, and group tours.

Guests visiting the city for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) will also benefit from the programme.

Ten tours will offer special promotions featuring 20-25% discounts linking travel agencies, airlines, hotels, and attractions.

The city plans to cut prices of accommodation by 10-50%, its most popular attractions by 5-50%, and its food and shopping services by 5-30%.

Danang has welcomed 1.5 million tourists since the start of 2013, a 16% increase on the first half of last year. The figure includes around 400,000 foreigners.

Air travelers have almost doubled, leaping 94.2% from 2012 levels.
