Update: Jul 29, 2013
(TITC) - Located 50km from Ha Noi Capital to the north, Bac Giang not only has long-standing historical - cultural tradition with nearly 2,300 relic sites, but also owns many beautiful natural landscapes, unique traditional craft villages, more than 500 festivals and many special folk cultural activities of ethnic minority groups. Recently, Bac Giang has given priority to develop tourism infrastructure with projects such as trees planting, construction of trekking way system, electric system... in Suoi Mo tourist site (Luc Nam District); construction of Road No. 293 from Bac Giang City to Thanh Son Town (Son Dong District) connecting many attractive tourist sites such as Dong Thong, Khe Ro (Son Dong District), Suoi Mo (Luc Nam District), Vinh Nghiem Pagoda (Yen Dung District)... Especially, in 2009, non-governmental organization GTV and Trento Province (Italy) implemented the project of supporting to develop community-based tourism in Bac Giang with total cost of nearly 200,000 Euro.

In addition, Bac Giang also developed the overall zoning plans for many tourist areas and attractions such as: Khuon Than, West Yen Tu Relic and Landscape System, Suoi Mo, Yen The Uprising Relic Site...; and entertainment, amusement spots (restaurants, hotels, monuments, golf courses...); approved the project "Tourism propaganda and investment promotion in the period 2012 - 2020" with total cost of nearly VND 30 billions; promulgated the plan "Training tourism human resource of Bac Giang in the period 2011 - 2016"...

Together with focusing on upgrading infrastructure, Bac Giang's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also took interest in tourism investment promotion to introduce Bac Giang's image to tourists by various activities e.g: participating in the 5th Quang Nam Heritage Festival in June 2013 with some activities including: Exhibition "Viet Nam - ASEAN culture space"; presenting typical cultural heritage of Buddhist Sutra Woodblocks at Vinh Nghiem Pagoda, performing Quan Ho folk songs, Ca tru, San Chi folk songs, Cao Lan folk songs, Tho Ha Festival, Yen The Festival...; taking part in Red River Delta - Hai Phong Tourism Fair 2013...

To create breakthroughs in tourism development, in the coming time, Bac Giang tourism needs to continue to coordinate with relevant agencies to implement effectively the plans and projects approved; and also accelerate tourism promotion at home and abroad, support and encourage organizations and businesses to invest in tourism sector. In addition, Bac Giang needs to train and improve the quality of tourism human resources; develop specific tourism products and foster promotion of tourism brand; enhance cooperation and linkage with the provinces and cities in the region such as Ha Noi, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh...

Thanks to the efforts of the province, in the recent years, Bac Giang tourism has many positive changes, attracting more and more tourists each year. Bac Giang strives to welcome more than 400,000 tourist arrivals in 2015, create jobs for nearly 4,000 labors, contribute to economic-society development of the province.
