With the topic "Sam Son - a meeting place", the arts night included songs and dances, vividly featuring the image of the tourist town of Sam Son in the integration and development path.

The performances also honoured the historical and cultural values of the town and Thanh Hoa province, promoting local tourism.

According to the organizers, the arts night was an event opening the Sam Son Culture-Sports-Tourism Week and the Sam Son summer tourist season in 2013.

After the opening event, there will be a number of other activities within the framework of the Sam Son Culture-Sports-Tourism Week to be held until May 2nd. These will include badminton, table tennis and tennis tourneys; and a sport motor show named "A dance on the wave".

In addition, the local tourism sector will hold various cultural and sport activities through the summer tourist season, such as square-cake and round sticky rice cake festivals, rain worshipping festival, fish worshipping festival and boat contest.

The Sam Son Culture-Sports-Tourism Week is also seen as a preparation for the National Tourism Year 2015 to be held in Thanh Hoa province.
