Update: Oct 11, 2012
Tourists to HCMC now have more choices of entertainment thanks to a new art program named Ngoc Viet or Vietnam's pearl jointly held by HCMC Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Youth Theater One Member Company.

The program will debut tomorrow at Non La Theater located inside the HCMC Labor Cultural Palace in District 1. The program features some intangible cultural heritages acknowledged by UNESCO and Vietnam's folk arts including hat boi (Vietnamese opera), drum performance, dan da (stone musical instruments), nha nhac (Hue royal music), lion dance gongs and Central Highland percussion performances.

The program will be held on Thursdays and Sundays, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

HCMC now has three art programs for tourists including traditional water puppetry (six times per day) at Vietnam's History Museum in District 1, Hon Viet (Vietnam's soul) program held monthly on the 15th and 23rd days at City Opera House and Rong vang (golden dragon) water puppetry twice a day at the HCMC Labor Cultural Palace.
