The Halong Express tourist train linking Hanoi and Halong began the first route in April 10, 2009. It is operated by Dongrim Railway Transport Co.Ltd, a wholly Korean-invested company with technical services to be provided by Vietnam Railway Group.
The train has 5 coaches and 1 buffet-car originating from Korea with comfortable equipments. Each coach which has passenger capacity of 62 seats supports air conditioner, 2 LCD televisions and standard sound system.
Foreign passengers are met free by tourist bus with quantity of 10 people and over at Le Thach St (Hanoi) and tourist wharf (Halong)
The one-way trip departs from Gia Lam Station at 7h5 and arrive Halong at 12h. The return trip departs from Halong at 15h and arrive Gia Lam Station at 20h5. The ticket price is USD15 for foreign tourists and USD5 for domestic tourists.
