The information was released at a meeting in Ha Noi on April 19 between Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Van Suu and head of the Organising Board of the Fukuro Festival of Japan Iwata Jinichi.

Iwata Jinichi said that performing in Hanoi is a great honour for the Japanese troupe.

He expressed his hope that through this performance, the friendship between Tokyo and Ha Noi and between Japan and Viet Nam at large will be tightened.

Suu recalled the close relationship between Japan and Viet Nam and their capital cities, which has been enhanced through the organisation of numerous festivals, including the Japanese cherry blossom festival at Ly Thai To Square, Hoan Kiem lake in late March.

He said that Hanoians are always willing to welcome foreign tourists, including those from Japan.

He showed his hope that the Yosakoi performance will bring joy for and attract the participation of visitors to the walking area, thus helping consolidate the bilateral relationship.
