Nui Sam tourism area to become tourism centre by 2025

The Prime Minister has approved overall planning a master plan for tourism development in the Nui Sam National Tourist Area until 2025 with a vision to 2030.

The plan aims to develop Nui Sam Tourist Area meet the criteria of a national tourism area before 2025. By 2030, Nui Sam National Tourist Area will become a unique tourist center for spiritual culture in the Mekong Delta region. Along with Chau Doc and neighboring tourist sites, the tourism area will become an important destination of the Mekong Delta region and Viet Nam.

The tourist area plans to welcome 6 million arrivals by 2025 and 7 million by 2030. By 2030, the tourist area targets a total revenue of VND trillion, creating jobs for nearly 9,000 employees.

According to the master plan, the tourist area will focus on developing eight main functional areas, including: old urban area to preserve the Chau Doc traditional architecture and culture; Public works area with the combination of housing and services; Areas of cultural tourist park, entertainment, sport; Ecotourism area with tourist services; Area of tourist accommodation establishments of tourists;

Ecological tourist resort area; Eco-farm integrated resort; Cultural and spiritual tourism area, Sam mountain festival.

The tourist area will prioritize the development of cultural and spiritual tourist products. In addition, the plan also will develop unique tourism products for enjoying natural landscapes and the cultural identities of local people. Other tourism products include spiritual tourism to pagodas and temples, spiritual relic sites, monuments, traditional cultural festivals, sightseeing and shopping in border areas, camping.
