Speaking at the programme, Vietnamese Consult General to Sydney Trinh Duc Hai highly appreciated the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for hosting the event, which was held to promote Viet Nam’s tourism in Australia while bringing the country’s traditional culture closer to the Overseas Vietnamese community in Australia.

He called on for more activities to advertise Vietnamese culture and tourism to Australians, and strengthen bilateral friendship and cooperation, particularly when the two countries will celebrate their 45th anniversary of diplomatic ties next year.

During the 90-minute programme, artists from the Viet Nam Contemporary Art Theatre delighted the audiences with folk melodies from Viet Nam’s different regions and beautiful sounds of the country’s traditional musical instruments.

A photo exhibition on the natural landscape and people of Viet Nam was also held as part of the programme.

Previously, a similar event was held successfully in Victoria State, Melbourne on December 17.

Tran Ba Phuc, Chairman of the Association of Vietnamese Entrepreneurs in Australia, hailed the event as a meaningful activity, illustrating the Party and State’s attention to preserving traditional values and caring for the spiritual life of the Vietnamese expatriates.
